This spring is shaping up to be very exciting! March will see performances with both the Renaissance City Choir & the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh. And in April, I will go on my first tour in 8 years! This is the first Megabus tour I’ve done, and the first tour since I’ve shifted focus from percussion / objects to ukulele / voice.
Here is the itinerary :
4/6/2018 – Harrisburg, PA – Little Amps Coffee Roasters
4/7/2018 – State College, PA
4/8/2018 – Philadelphia, PA
4/9/2018 – New York, NY
More details will be made available on my Facebook page as gigs get confirmed.
Finally, here’s a taste of what I’m working on for the tour. Enjoy.
I’ll be opening for Spires That In The Sunset Rise, Mara Yaffee, & more TBA at this show. It will mark a return to improv/noise performance after a nearly year-long hiatus. More details below :
I’ll be performing at the PBR Tent (outside Howlers on Liberty Ave. in Bloomfield) at 2:30 PM on Sunday, 8/21. Will be performing classics written by Duke Ellington, David Bowie, & more! Hope to see you there.
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here. Things have changed a bit. I still sing with Renaissance City Choirs, but this fall I’ll also begin my third season performing with the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh.
I’m also learning ukulele & have started playing some gigs singing & playing (mostly) standards.
The improv/noise performances have been on hiatus, but I’m hoping to shake off the ring rust & start playing gigs again this fall. I’ve dropped the Burnout Warcry name & will be performing under my given name.
Sadly, I’ve gotten out of practice with the visual art. Hope to get back to it soon.
Thank you for reading.
I’ll be performing at the Scary Sound Nite event at Den Season (4721 Stanton Ave., Pittsburgh 15201) on Thursday, Oct. 31st. It starts with dinner at 6:00PM, and admission is a requested donation of $5. I’ll be doing something a little different at this show-will be singing 2 or 3 Schubert lieder and an English murder ballad while accompanying myself on chord organ and ukulele. Also performing will be Satyr/Elfheim, Ghost Grnder, Derek Zanetti, Scary Shoe Theatre, and Joe Mruk & Ross Hardy. More info is available here. Happy Halloween!
This is some of what I’ve been working on over the past summer. Most of them are oil pastel & acrylic on wooden board (cigar box lids), but there’s also a new piece in Chinese ink on Shuji paper. Sadly, the last 2 are cell phone photos, so the resolution isn’t very good. Anyway, enjoy.
Mike Tamburo and I will be giving live performances as part of the opening for Automata: A Kinetic Art Show on Friday, August 2 from 7-10PM at the Irma Freeman Center For the Imagination (5006 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA, 15224). The show is curated by Katy Dement, and features moving and interactive artworks. Admission is free. More info at: irmafreeman.org/events/ .
